Tank material and why it matters

The tank is made from SUS316L stainless steel. Compared to SUS304, SUS316L contains 2-3% molybdenum. Molybdenum improves resistance to pitting corrosion caused by chlorides in municipal water or coastal air. A SUS304 tank in a hotel near the ocean may show pinhole leaks after five years. The same hotel using SUS316L typically gets ten to fifteen years of service.

Before leaving the factory, every tank is tested at 1.2 MPa (174 psi) hydrostatic pressure. Standard working pressure is 0.8 MPa. This 50% margin catches weld defects before they become field failures. The test takes three minutes per tank. Records are kept for each unit.

A 200L unit typically serves 50 guest rooms at 65% occupancy. For larger properties, multiple 200L units are installed in parallel. A group control panel sequences the heating elements and provides redundancy. If one unit needs service, the others continue running.

Commercial laundries
